Samos- Our Reflections and Images

“We had to get up really early in the morning.  It rained early as well so we got in a couple of games of hearts.  After the rain cleared we went to explore.  We hiked to the top of the mountain behind the town. We walked up to a monastery and discovered a cave grotto behind it.  It was so cold deep in the cave you could see your own breath.  After the hike we went to the beach and got a little lost on the way their.  Some kid charged us to Euros for a beach chair.”
Jessie R.

“Samos may have been my favorite island although we had such an early wake up time.  I really enjoyed seeing the town wake up and seeing greek people begin their day.”
Emily T

“I fell in the water which wasn’t fun but I got to swim in the ocean and explore this small Greek Island.  I also got to meet and hang out with some girls that happened to be from Kansas City.”

“Exploring the cliffs along the shoreline and finding old WW2 military bunkers was really cool.”

“It was cool to come to the island where a giant of geometry came from- Pythegous. I was pretty sleepy after getting off the ship so early—just like math class.”
Charlie C.

“I loved the orthodox church that we went into.  The church had so many details to it and it was covered in gold.”
Angelina Y.

“It was interesting being able to explore a large part of the city on our own.  Also got blamed for throwing rocks which we did not.”

“I liked how small the little port town we stayed in was.  I don’t really like math but it is cool that we were at the birth place of a key idea in mathematics- Pythagorean theorem. This was the island were Pythagoras was born.”
Dakota C.

“I really liked this island as it was not crowded with tourists, but the shops still had lots of cool stuff.”
Brian D.

“I loved this the island of Samos.  There were so many little fishing boats in the port.  We had an awesome view from the monastery.  I also got to explore a “cold” on a hot day.”

“The morning in Samos was the most adventure I have had in a day!  Finding and exploring the old bunkers on the cliff side was cool.”
