Vatican City- Our Impressions and Images

“We were standing in Saint Peter’s square right where the Pope gives his speeches.  We also stood in the Sistine Chapel where they select the Pope.  It was pretty cool.  The Vatican City is a city complete with a pharmacy because I had to get medicine for my a bad tooth.  Miracles do happen though because I didn’t have a toothache again.”
Jessie R.

“I really enjoyed learning about the details of the Sistine chapel.”

“I liked that we could actually have things blessed by the Pope.”
Chandler S.

“It was actually much bigger than I thought.  St. Peters was huge- easily the largest church I have ever visited.”
Bryce D.
“I thought it was ironic that the Vatican has such a problem with pickpockets.”
Chariie C

“I loved all of the statues and art work in the Vatican Museum. It was also interesting to see the different types of medicine and technology they had at different times in history.”
Angelina Y

“I liked the architecture and the history of the Vatican and learned how crazy the ornate decorations were first hand.Plus I found the birds to be rude.”

“The art in the Vatican Museum was so incredible.  I can not even begin to choose what I liked the most about this amazing place.”
Oreana F

“I liked that the Vatican is actually not only a city but a country- the smallest in the world.  Saint Peter’s Cathedral was amazing.  It is so huge yet there are some cool tricks inside that make it seem smaller.  The letters on the wall are like six feet tall so the ceilings actually seem closer than they really are.”
Dakota C.

“ I remember trying some really interesting “RIngo” cookies at lunch. They are considered a special treat in Italy.”
Amanda C.

“I didn’t realize that the Vatican was its own country.  I guess it is what you could call a city-state.”
Rhiannon E

“Being inside St. Peter’s Basillica is an indescribable experience.”
Andrew B.
“For being the smallest country in the world it can still be confusing as it has one the biggest churches and museums in the world.  Needless to say I got lost and it rained and my cloths got all wet.  I learned to stay with the group and read the packing list in the future.  I loved it.”
Sara W.

“I learned that this city (Vatican City) within a city (Rome) is really a country.”
Chloe W.

I enjoyed learning about the Pope and the church while we were visiting.  Seeing and walking through the inside of the church was nice.”
Viveca P.
“I learned that Vatican City was its own country. “

“Vatican City was awesome because of the amazing artwork all around inside and out.  Plus you can’t help but have a spiritual feeling when you are inside St. Peters.”
Jake B.

“For being the smallest country in the world Saint Peter’s was perhaps the most amazing church I have ever seen, certainly it was the largest I have ever seen.”
Brian D.

“I found it interesting that the population of the Vatican is most likely under 800 people according to most estimates.”
